I remember when I was an osteo student, learning about GAS. General Adaption Syndrome, defined by Hans Seyle. I thought, "well, this is everything." 90% of the people who will wind on the treatment couch will have an overactive sympathetic (fight-flight) system that can't switch off. Lots of reasons for it, and a handful of outcomes.
Never switiching off, tired and wired, anxiety and depression, autoimmune diseases, heart conditions, diabetes, gut disorders, chronic pain. Of course, high cortisol isn't the only contributor to these conditions. And yet, I find it is rarely absent in them.
My osteopathic work always brought me back to this, as has counselling, breathing and movement.
We need to be able to get out of fight/flight - REGULARLY and CONSISTENTLY.
Nurosym has been deeply research ed for deacdes and has shown to be the best product in supporting this, with as little as 30 mins, non-invasive input a day.
